Japamala Resort-Tioman – Day 2 & 3 – 29-30 Nov 2008

Day 2

Got up at 9am and had breakfast at Tamarind Terrace (sister restaurant to Tamarind Springs in Ampang). We were the only ones there that morning. What a change to have exclusive access to the entire buffet spread (a very small spread though but all the essentials were there) instead of having to push with the crowds. The other guests must either still be asleep or already doing their own thing.

After breakfast, we went for a dip in their pool and as usual, Braedyn refused to get in. He only sat by the poolside splashing his feet in the water. That is his definition of swimming. Shayanne, on the other hand jumped straight in. After the swim, we went back to take a shower and all of us fell asleep for many hours until we were woken up by the kuih delivery housekeeper. The sound of waves has that effect on you :)

We did plan to have dinner this time at Tamarind Terrace but Mandi Mandi was too hard to resist so we ended up at the same table with the same waiter and chef.

After a very satisfying meal, we went back with Ice Age but 30 minutes into the movie, Braedyn asked us to switch it off as he was scared of the sabre-tooth tigers!!!! So it was an early night for all of us.

Day 3

Pretty much the same routine. It does get addictive. It rained right after breakfast for about 2 hours so we were lucky that most of the time, we had good weather.

Our return boat trip to the airport took 30 minutes because of very high waves. A normal flight back but something interesting happened at the airport. We bumped into Lim Guan Eng on our way out. He was chatting with someone who stopped to say hello. No police, no VIP entourage. Just him holding a tattered DAP bag. What a refreshing change from the usual crap we get from dinosaur politicians. You guys in Penang should be proud of yourselves :) Daddykhong was about to say hello when suddenly, the staff manning the X-ray scanner exclaimed loudly. Apparently, their machine stopped working. Only then we realised that Braedyn switched off the wall switch that powered their machine (Note to Malaysia Airports – do not locate switches for critical equipment near public areas). So we offered our apologies and scooted off without saying hello to CM Lim.

dropping by first time and wow… love those pic.. you are good! :-)

and what Braedyn did at the airport was so hilarious! I could just picture the looks on those airport staff! hahaha!

    Thank you.

  4. So the x-ray scanning machine is not childproof! LOL

Thinking back, the looks on the officers’ faces were priceless. Couple that with the grin of a child satisfied that he managed to find a switch to turn off made it more memorable.
