Shayanne: 10 months old

Alamak…Mamakhong is sooo busy until she skipped Shayanne’s 9-months old updates. Here’s Shayanne at 10 months.

Updates on Shayanne:-

• I’m so glad that my baby girl is starting to show interest in food. She is now on porridge with steamed blended veges. Since she is a fussy eater, our midwife recommended using homemade vegetables stock (includes corns, pumpkin and broccoli) but she doesn’t seem to like it at all. In the end, I made chicken stock and she has no problem eating the porridge with chicken stock.

Ingredients for chicken stock:

• 3 chicken drumsticks / 1 chicken carcass
• 30 pieces of red dates
• 3 cups of anchovies
• 7 cups of water

1. Remove the fat from the chicken.
2. Pour all the ingredients in the slow cooker.
3. Boil in low setting for 8 hours.
4. Pour the chicken stock in the containers to freeze for later use.

Ingredients for porridge:

• 2 tbsp of japanese rice grains
• 1 container of chicken stock

1. Pour all the ingredients in the small slow cooker.
2. Boil in low setting for 4 hours.

The porridge is divided into two portions (for 2 meals). Veges puree is added in the porridge. Tada…ready to feed.

• New food: She is beginning to eat fish and chicken. Mainly cod fish fillet (Mummykhong is very lazy to debone the fish). She is no longer on steamed fruits as well. She loves bananas and papayas.
• Milk feed: 4 times of 6oz milk daily.

Shayanne’s developments:-

• She can clap her hands now. When we ask her to clap her hands, she will clap and give us her cheeky smile.
• She can stand on her own for a few seconds before she drops down. The funny thing is she will slowly go down on a hard floor and plonk herself very hard on the bed.
• She loves to rub or knock her forehead on the wall.
• Sometimes she will smile to herself when she watches TV.
• She can really SCREAM to get attention and to be carried. Sometimes she will scream, Braedyn will join in and they both alternate their screams for fun!
• She can wave bye.

She’s very different from Braedyn. I think she’ll grow up into a very demanding little girl. Everything must be done her way. Braedyn loves food, she doesn’t. Braedyn is patient (relatively speaking), she isn’t. Braedyn listens and obeys, she doesn’t. Braedyn has no issues sharing his things, she must have everything to herself.
